About us

Tjønnås is located 400 meters east of Hjartdal municipality.

Gunleik is the third generation Skårdal who runs a farm here, after the grandparents bought the farm in 1943. Torild and Gunleik took over the operation in 1986, and continued with milk cows and sheep until 2003.

Eventually, we had to work more and more beside the farm to get an income to live on, and it became too cumbersome with milk production. We kept the sheep, went over to Ammeku, and started with bees. Then came the idea of processing the sheep meat. It started with a fennel year, and it gave us great pleasure! Soon we had stick meat too, which fortunately fell into the taste of more than us.

Gunleik is a trained carpenter, with a special interest in restoration. It enjoys houses and cottages in the Tuddal district well off! Otherwise he is
concerned with hunting, old weapons, organ and folk music, and he plays hardfire.

Torild is an agronomist and musician, employed as an organist in Hjartdal in a 50% position. In addition, she has some students at the cultural school, and is a choir conductor.

Our two sons are:
Svein Olav at 27; odd boy, soon ready to take over the farm, and cares in Hjartdal.
Trygve is 25 years old and a machine operator.
Both have been behind for a number of years as field players, rap musicians and rockers. Trygve still urges someone to turn on the hide, and he and mother play guitar and flute when we find an opportunity.
We warmly welcome you to us!
